Common lift questions — plain answers
Plain answers to questions we hear every week — from homeowners, RWAs and site managers across Delhi NCR. No brochure language. If your building is different, call us for a survey.
Lift installation
Most install delays come from the shaft not being ready — pit, headroom and power. Here's what we tell builders and RWAs upfront.
Quick answer
How long does a new lift installation take?
Once the shaft is ready and equipment is on site, a passenger lift usually takes a few weeks — depending on floors and access. A G+4 home lift can finish in 1–2 weeks if civil work is done. A 15–20 floor tower often needs 3–4 weeks per car. We confirm dates after survey.
What our engineer says
Most install delays aren't our fabrication — they're a shaft that isn't ready. Call us at structure stage so pit depth and overhead are right the first time.
Safety standards we work to
Industry rules and practices we align our work to.
- National Building Code of India 2016 — Part 8 (Building Services)NBC provisions for lift shafts, fire access and building services — builders should freeze shaft sizes with NBC-aligned guidance before civil work.
- BIS IS 14665 (electric traction lifts)Indian Standard for electric traction lifts — the baseline we follow for safety, construction and testing on installs and handover.

Questions & answers
How long does a new lift installation take?
Once the shaft is ready and equipment is on site, a passenger lift usually takes a few weeks — depending on floors and access. A G+4 home lift can finish in 1–2 weeks if civil work is done. A 15–20 floor tower often needs 3–4 weeks per car. We confirm dates after survey.
Practical tipMonsoon pit water is a common hold-up — arrange drainage before we start hydraulic work.
Who builds the lift shaft?
Usually your builder or contractor, using our dimensional drawings. We specify pit depth, overhead clearance, door openings and whether you need a machine room or MRL layout. Wrong shaft size means delay and extra civil cost — involve us before structure drawings freeze.
Practical tipWe often see RWAs ask for a large car in a small shaft — we’ll recommend the capacity that actually fits.
What do you need for an accurate install quote?
Shaft width × depth, number of stops, capacity (persons or kg), lift type, power supply and location. Building drawings are best; clear photos with tape measurements also help before survey.
Practical tipFor goods lifts, tell us pallet size and heaviest load. For hospitals, stretcher length matters for cabin size.
Can you install in a building people already live in?
Yes — common in Indirapuram and Noida societies. We plan noise windows, power shutdown slots, barricades and lobby access. Expect one car to be out of service during install — tell residents early.
Practical tipFix morning work slots in the RWA meeting before festival season to reduce noise complaints.
Is testing and handover included?
Yes, as per your contract — commissioning, safety checks, load test and a handover note. We brief guards or facility staff on daily use. Most people forget to sign an AMC at handover — we remind you.
Practical tipDoor fine-tuning in the first month is normal — not a sign something is wrong.
